Our nursing sisters hold daily surgeries by appointment.
They are assisted by a health care assistant who holds smoking cessation sessions twice weekly.
When booking an appointment it is helpful if you can give the receptionist the reason for your appointment. This will ensure you are booked in to the appropriate clinic with the appropriate nurse.
The nurses may be seen for the following:
The Doctors are able to provide certain services not covered by the NHS, e.g. certain medical examinations, driving licence forms, insurance reports, special letters etc. These services are subject to a fee. We use the scale of fees suggested by the BMA.
Some of these services may require a special appointment. Please ask the receptionist for advice.
Unless the Doctor has asked you to book an appointment to discuss your test results please the surgery anytime between 8am - 18.30pm on Mondays to Fridays where a member of our Patient Support Team will be very happy to assist you with your enquiry. You should allow at least one week from the day of your test and some tests do take considerably longer.
A member of staff will be able to tell you whether the result is normal and whether you will need to speak to or see the Doctor. If the Doctor wishes to see or speak to you, please do not panic. This does not necessarily mean it is bad news.
Where the results of investigations need urgent action the surgery will make every effort to contact you. Please make sure we have an up to date contact number.
For illnesses lasting less than one week a Doctor’s certificate is not required. A self certificate should be used for this period and should be available from your employer or at the practice reception. If a private sick note is required this will be subject to the standard charge.
